OPERA AND MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP

Come work on your craft and make music with us!
Two weeks full of opera and musical theater scene work, voice lessons, language coaching, and more.
Co-Directors Whitney Wells and Benjamin Rorabaugh

ABOUT OUR WORKSHOP

Our hope in creating this workshop is to aid young singers in their performance skills while building the creativity, confidence, and collegiality that is vital in the professional world, no matter what profession you pursue.

Whether your passion lies in musical theater, opera, or somewhere else, we hope that exposure to both will enrich your musicianship and expand your boundaries to hold appreciation for all art forms.

Over the course of two weeks, students will learn several scenes from operas and musicals, one of which they will have a solo role in. We will workshop how to approach learning your music, language and diction coaching, acting, and staging the scenes. In addition, students will receive a total of two 50-minute voice lessons during the two-week period where they will work on their scene music in addition to any solo repertoire they choose to bring. If desired, voice lessons may be continued beyond the workshop for an additional fee.
